Munich - There will be another Corona summit on Tuesday (December 21).

The federal and state governments meet to discuss new restrictions - including on New Year's Eve.

A first draft resolution has already leaked.

At the top meeting they will talk about contact restrictions in the private sector (also for those who have been vaccinated and recovered) and about a possible lockdown after Christmas.

However, Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach has already ruled out a "lockdown over Christmas".

The further procedure for booster vaccinations will also be an issue.

In a press conference on Monday, Prime Minister Markus Söder had already announced that Bavaria would “not rush ahead” this time.

Söder still has some demands on the federal government.

Cabinet meeting before Corona summit: Söder has precise demands on the government

In his press statement after the CSU board meeting, Söder warned of the "Omikron wall" that was rushing towards Germany.

The current relaxation in Bavaria is only a snapshot.

He very much hopes that the traffic light government will reintroduce the epidemic emergency.

This means that there is no need for new advice every time.

In this regard he criticizes the Expert Council.

The proposals should be more specific.

The National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, which previously advised the grand coalition, would have formulated clearer proposals for rules, said the Prime Minister.

The CSU boss also expects this from the panel of experts on Tuesday.

Söder also calls for further efforts with the booster vaccinations - and also more money so that the failures due to restrictions can be better compensated.

Before MPK summit: Cabinet meets on the current corona situation in Bavaria

On Tuesday (December 21), the Bavarian cabinet will meet at 10 a.m. to discuss the current corona situation in the Free State.

The meeting will therefore take place before the federal-state summit in the afternoon.

At around 12.30 p.m., Markus Söder, Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger and Minister of Health Klaus Holetschek gave a press conference to provide information on the results of the consultations.

Should resolutions be passed at the federal-state meeting that go beyond the measures already in force in Bavaria, the Council of Ministers would have to meet again.
