Adv. Pinchas Mariinsky was a guest today (Tuesday) on Yossi Hadar's "15 Minutes" podcast, and attacked the method by which judges in Israel are elected by the Supreme Court: "In almost the whole world, the political echelon is the one that elects the judges.

Mariinsky, who was previously a member of the Judicial Selection Committee, argues that the Judiciary Selection Committee method deals deals, and that "there were cases where candidates who did not pass the judging course were nevertheless elected judges."
He further says that the rulings of former Supreme Court President Aharon Barak, according to which the judge's worldview has great weight, have led to politicization in the election of judges.
