The unusual meeting between Ganz and Abu Mazen took place yesterday in Rosh HaAyin.
The two talked for two and a half hours, some in the presence of teams from both sides, and some in private.
The meeting was coordinated with Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's office, which gave the green light to the move.
Palestinian Minister Hussein a-Sheikh, who attended the meeting, said its goal was to find a political path and was "a last chance before reaching a dead end and an explosion."
According to the Defense Minister's Office, he informed the Palestinian Authority chairman that he intended to continue promoting confidence-building measures in the economic and civilian spheres, as agreed at their meeting in Ramallah in August.
