The Galleon from the film Pirates by Roman Polanski lost pieces moored in the ancient port of Genoa.
Last night the firefighters intervened because some parts of the bow fell into the water and onto the railing of the promenade, without hurting anyone. The firefighters used the ladder to check the stability of other parts of the boat. The ship was built in 1986 for use in the film. It has now become a tourist attraction. In recent years the firefighters have intervened other times for a fire and other falls of material.
"Nothing serious happened, just a piece of rotten wood fell into the water."
This is what the commander of the Galleon, the tourist attraction boat, moored in the ancient port of Genoa after last night's intervention by the firefighters for the detachment of some pieces, reports.
The Neptune vessel therefore remains open to the public.
In 2011 it was also used in the television miniseries Neverland - The True Story of Peter Pan by Nick Willing.
