The Panamanian justice decided that the case of the Panama papers will have a trial in November, after opening a criminal case against 32 people for alleged money laundering, according to a statement from the Judicial Branch of Panama.

Jürgen Mossack and Ramón Fonseca Mora, both former partners of the defunct law firm Mossack & Fonseca, were part of the defendants in the preliminary hearing held at the end of last November.

However, so far, the Panama Judicial Branch has not wanted to reveal the names of the 32 people called to trial.

And it also does not clarify whether Mossack and Fonseca are on the list.

CNN makes attempts to independently verify information.

The statement from the Judicial Branch of Panama details that the Third Criminal Court of the First Judicial Circuit of Panama declared the termination of the criminal action against three people.

Another eight were provisionally dismissed.

The trial is scheduled for November 15-18 this year, at 9:00 am local time, as the main date.

The period from December 6 to 9, 2022 has been designated as the alternate date.

The local investigation of the Panama papers case was started in 2016 by the country's Public Ministry, after the international scandal over the leak of documents from the Mossack & Fonseca firm that revealed data on personalities who allegedly hid assets in tax havens.

While the Public Ministry sustained in the preliminary hearing that, through various judicial proceedings, it obtained evidence of alleged crimes committed, Jürgen Mossack denied the accusations to CNN.

For his part, Ramón Fonseca Mora at all times has refused to talk about the subject.
