Al-Qabbani Theatre, which bore the name of one of the pioneers of Al-Qudud’s art, with his immortal works left for generations, today hosted a lyrical evening in which the Aleppo and Damascene songs were mixed.

The evening, which was titled (Aleppo and Damascus, Heritage and Love), during which lovers of authentic tarab were treated to a bouquet of Aleppo qoudd and muwashshahs, chanted by singers Hadiya al-Sibini and Hussam Helmy, amid a heavy presence that dispelled the cold atmosphere.

The beginning of the program was with the Isq Al-Atash break, composed by Sheikh Omar Al-Batsh, where it was performed by the choir of the band led by the artist Imad Al-Aboudi, who and his band have long been reviving the heritage and authentic Tarab.

She followed the evening programme, the singer Al-Sibini, and a group of Qudoud Al-Halabi performed a distinctive and warm voice to sing Qudoud (Under Howdha, Oh, Asmar and Belbakalk Shaq Al-Diam) and the song I Believe in God, in addition to other songs.

The second part of the evening also followed Ibn Aleppo Al-Shahba, the singer Hossam Helmy, where he performed the wine of love, drink it for the great late Sabah Fakhri, then he presented various songs and muwashahat that enriched the evening and enriched the audience, who interacted with joy and singing.

In a statement to SANA reporter, Al-Sibini stated that this heritage evening came to revive the Aleppo Qudud, which UNESCO included on the list of intangible heritage, and to remind the heritage and its consolidation in the minds of generations, stressing the importance of the presence of the Aleppo Quddoud in all traditional and heritage evenings to remain present in the conscience.

In turn, Maestro Adnan Al-Aboudi, leader of the Nights of Joy troupe, pointed out in a similar statement that the evening came in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and in honor of the great late Sabah Fakhri and a celebration of the intangible heritage’s registration.

It is noteworthy that the “Layali Al Farah” Ensemble for Heritage Revival is one of the recently established musical groups that participates in concerts and musical evenings on the theaters of Damascus.
