A trio of artists is currently presenting a sophisticated exhibition in the old prison in Freising and is fascinating with the visual power of their work.

Freising

– The visual power of their works is fascinating: Hartmut Fenge, Sybille Rath and Heribert Heindl show new works in the old prison.

Color and light create a very special "sound".

3D ultrasound images have always fascinated Hartmut Fenge in his profession as a cardiologist and pediatric heart specialist.

The undulating movements that can be observed in it somehow inspired him to play with paint and canvas, says Neufahrner, who ran a children's cardiology practice in Freising during his professional life.

He has completed several courses in painting and drawing.

The interest in how a certain color tone is created has grown steadily.

"Sometimes I just leave it to chance how the paint flows on the canvas," he says.

He mixes fat-soluble pigments with oil paints on the canvas to create exciting effects.

It is often Christmas paper that he uses for creative work.

The play between light and color is very finely worked out in Heribert Heindl's abstract works.

He would like to ask the viewer to pause in front of the picture, to linger and ask themselves the question: "Is that a picture, a flat fabric or just a three-dimensional undergrowth?" He deliberately wanted to provoke a little to the viewer to communicate with the image.

Areas, lines, colors and shapes are used in his paintings to create an effect.

Sybille Rath preserves a remnant of objectivity in her large-format oil paintings, in which she wants to "silence" the room.

Mythology and the history of art inspire her again and again to create new motifs.

Shadowy bodies appear on a black background, constantly entering into a dialogue with the history of art.

Good to know

The exhibition in the old prison can be visited until February 6th.

Opening times: Friday to Sunday 1pm to 5.30pm, Thursday 3pm to 6pm.
