The line of fire disasters continues:
A 13-year-old boy perished last night (Tuesday) in a fire that broke out in an apartment in the Musrara neighborhood of Jerusalem.
A 49-year-old man was slightly injured by smoke inhalation.
Jerusalem Fire and Rescue Service reported that a call was received about the burning of a building in an apartment on the fourth floor of a four-story building at 16 Daniel Street in the Musrara neighborhood of Jerusalem.
Four teams operate on site.
During their work, they trapped him and handed him over to medical personnel who worked at the scene.
These were forced to determine his death.
The Jerusalem police have opened an investigation.
MDA paramedic Oren Brill said: “When we reached the street we saw the fire and smoke rising from an apartment on the top floor of the residential building.
After the extinguishing operations were completed we entered the apartment and we saw the boy who was unconscious.
He was without signs of life and we have no choice but to determine his death.
A 49-year-old man who was slightly injured by smoke inhalation was treated with oxygen on the spot and is in a stable condition for further treatment at the hospital. "
Just last weekend a woman was killed in a fire in the capital.
Last week, a woman perished in a fire that broke out in an apartment on the streets.
Since the beginning of the winter season, the fire services have operated in 73 incidents - an increase of about 20% compared to last year.
In addition, last January, 61 incidents were recorded in Israel - compared with 57 in the corresponding period last year.
The fire authority points out that the factors that most likely influence the increase are the cold and the long stay in the houses, which have led to increased use of unsafe means of heating and electrical loads.
