Deadly flood in Quito drags down the street everything in its path 1:50

The number of people killed by the flood in Quito rose to 18, according to the municipality on Tuesday.
In addition, 16 are reported missing and 42 injured.
The flood occurred this Monday in the Belisario Quevedo parish, on La Gasca Avenue, due to heavy rains in recent days that the Ecuadorian capital suffered, reported the National Police of Ecuador and the National Risk and Emergency Management Service.
Authorities initially reported 11 people dead.
In its update on Tuesday, the National Risk Management Service indicated that there are 3 houses destroyed and also 3 families affected.
The president of Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso, expressed his condolences to relatives and loved ones of the deceased.
“Count on me and the National Government in these difficult times.
We stand in solidarity with the community, they have our full support," he wrote on his Twitter account on Tuesday.
The president indicated that they continue to work on search and rescue efforts, containment actions, psychological care and transfer of injured people to health centers.

Videos from security cameras from ECU 911 and from residents of the area show the torrential downpour and how vehicles, motorcycles, trees and garbage containers were swept away by the force of the mud and water.
The Quito Fire Department reported that it mobilized its units to assess the situation and undertake a search and rescue process, since several vehicles were trapped in the access to some homes.

The Quito Metropolitan Transit Agency closed the surrounding roads so that the teams can move and avoid putting more residents of the place at risk.
Empresa Eléctrica Quito reported that there were power outages in several sectors near the flood zone due to heavy rains, which is hindering relief efforts, according to the Fire Department of the Ecuadorian capital.
The municipal authorities indicated that they are still working to determine the number of deceased, missing and affected.
