18-year-old Rivka (pseudonym) grew up in an ultra-Orthodox house in the south of the country.
At the age of 5 her parents divorced, her world was shaken and at the age of 15 she was ejected into the street, where she maintained, among other things, marital systems with members of minorities.
Following a request from her friends to the Yad Laachim organization, she met with a social worker on behalf of the association, Sheri Laufer, and received support from her.
However, shortly afterwards the connection with her was severed and it later turned out that she had met a guy from an Arab village in Samaria, who was two decades older than her, married him and moved in with him.
For a long time Laufer tried to contact her but in vain.
Until one day, a few days ago, she received a surprising and urgent call from her.
Rebecca told Laufer that she was hospitalized in Jerusalem suffering from cuts following incidents of violence and rape she suffered at the hands of her husband.
"I hurried to the hospital," she says, "and there I heard from Rebecca that since her husband kept an eye on her all the time and even slept with her in the hospital bed, she did not reveal the real reason why she sought medical treatment, and now when he made some arrangements she took the opportunity to call me." .

Rebecca told Sherry that she experienced frequent violence from her husband and even showed her a "ketubah" that her partner had written in his handwriting, given her religious background, through which he explained to her that she was not allowed to leave him.
"I realized that if she returned with him to the village it could end in murder, so I called one of the association's security personnel and together we turned to the hospital staff for help."
The two turned to the head nurse as well as the head of the ward, explaining to them the delicate and complex condition of Rebecca and the medical staff agreeing to assist them in her smuggling.
"We agreed that the head of the department would turn to the husband and tell him that his wife must undergo emergency surgery and that until then he should avoid visits and so it was."
The next day the man accompanied his wife who was allegedly carried on her bed to the operating room and then listened to the doctor's advice and left the scene.
Yad LaHaim security personnel and the medical center took advantage of the fitness hour and smuggled Rebecca through basements and underground corridors until the emergency exit.
From there she was rushed to a hiding place where she stays to this day.
When the husband returned to the hospital he was surprised that his wife had disappeared, was angry and tried to find out where she had fled to, but eventually decided to give up and even sent Rebecca a message informing her that for him she was "deported".

Yad Laachim states that they intend to try to bring the man to justice so that he can be sentenced, despite a legal issue that could complicate the situation and cannot be detailed.
"It was an unusual collaboration," Laufer concludes of the complex operation, "but if we had not acted quickly it might have ended in disaster."
