The Director of the General Authority of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent Hospital, Dr. Michael Salloum, revealed to SANA that the number of hospital patients complaining of symptoms similar to those of Corona has been on the rise for ten days, as it sometimes reaches 40 patients per day.

Dr. Salloum indicated that the occupancy rate of the intensive care beds allocated to Corona patients in the hospital reached 95 percent, and in the isolation departments 70 percent, pointing out that the capacity of Corona patients is 20 beds in the isolation department, 10 beds in the intensive care, and 5 competitors in the service.

Regarding the most common symptoms in the current period, Dr. Salloum said, they are mixed between sore throat, severe coughing, high fever, difficulty breathing, and hypoxia, in addition to digestive symptoms.

Dr. Salloum stressed the importance of receiving the Corona vaccine, as it contributes to reducing the number and severity of injuries and the percentage of need for admission to care and admissions in hospitals in general, in addition to the need to continue individual preventive measures such as wearing a mask, spatial distancing and continuous sterilization.

Last January recorded about 1,100 injuries, the highest in Lattakia with 208 injuries, followed by Tartous with 162 injuries, then Damascus with 143 injuries, while the number of deaths reached 92 deaths, the highest in As-Suwayda 20 deaths, followed by Damascus 23 deaths, while the recovery cases amounted to 6,104, according to the data of the Ministry of Health.
