Almost ten years after the last edition - GTA V was released in 2013, its publisher, Rockstar Games, announced on Friday that they are working on a GTA VI.
“We are pleased to confirm that the development of the next installment of the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway,” wrote Rockstar Games, owned by American industry giant Take-Two Interactive, on Twitter.
Many of you have been asking about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series.
With every new project, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we've previously delivered.

Since the very first installment in the series, in 1997, the game has been as popular as it has been criticized for its violence.
The player is invited to slip, more or less like the "Sims", to slip into the skin of criminals.
He can then collect weapons, kill bystanders, steal cars and so many other reprehensible things, while carrying out "missions" to recover money.
The violence is such that Grand Theft Auto is known as the only game to receive an adult-only rating.
Still a lot of questions
It is not yet known when "Grand Theft Auto VI" will be released, whether it will actually be called that and on which consoles it will be available.
The previous "playgrounds" had been inspired by cities such as New York, San Francisco or Miami.
230 million copies of franchise-related games have been sold worldwide.
Rockstar Games has also announced that "Grand Theft Auto V" and "Grand Theft Auto Online" will be available on the latest generation game consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S from March 15.
