The health crisis, which has boosted the desire for space of the French, is blowing a wind of madness on mountain real estate.
The market has been overheating for months, with an undeniable appetite from buyers.
"Customers have savings aside and want to have fun, after difficult months
," notes Bérengère Servat, vice-president of Fnaim Montblanc.
And the prices reflect it.
According to the real estate valuation site Meilleursagents.com, the cost per m2 has soared by 9.7% in the Northern Alps, 7% in the Southern Alps and another 4.1% in the Pyrenees.

Of course, the biggest domains and accommodation at the foot of the slopes always have a crazy rating.
For accommodation in Val d'Isère, you have to pay 12,000 to 13,000 euros per m2, in Courchevel, nearly 10,000 euros and in Avoriaz or Tignes not far from 8,000 euros per m2 according to the Fnaim.
And if the foreign clientele has not quite returned, the luxury segment, where prices can drive the counters crazy...
