Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his wife Emine are Corona positive.
The President of Turkey continues to pursue his political duties.
Istanbul – The Turkish head of state Recep Tayyip Erdogan (AKP*) and his wife Emine have tested positive for Corona*.
The 67-year-old reported this on Saturday (February 5th, 2022) on Twitter.
He spoke of "mild symptoms" that were found in both.
The Covid 19 tests carried out were then positive.
It is an infection with the omicron variant*, explained Erdogan*.

The President of Turkey* and his wife are now staying at home.
The domestic isolation should only last for a week, said a consultant.
Then get tested again.
In the meantime, Erdogan will continue to carry out his duties and, if necessary, take part in events via video link, it said.

At 67, Erdogan is at risk of flu and has already been vaccinated against the corona virus.

The Turkish President canceled the opening of a road construction project on the Black Sea on Saturday, initially citing a cold.
Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said on Saturday that Erdogan and his wife are healthy enough to carry out their duties.
