The Damascus team topped the general rankings of the freestyle wrestling championship with 140 points, followed by the Deraa team and then the Aleppo team.
The Romanian wrestling competitions ended with the victory of Maher Abdel Mawla (45 kg), Abdel Moamen Al Talawi (48 kg), Omar Kaaboura (51 kg), Muhammad Karam Dano (55 kg), Mahmoud Tahan (60 kg), Mustafa Alo (65 kg), Khaled Al-Kun (71 kg), Salloum (80 kg) and Hamza Rawaij. Weighing 92 kg, Mahmoud Al-Balah weighed 110 kg.
The Damascus team topped the general ranking of the Roman wrestling championship with 130 points, followed by the Homs team with 120 points, then the Aleppo team and the Police Authority with 110 points.
Member of the Executive Office of the General Sports Federation, Muhammad Hayek, said in a statement to SANA’s sports reporter in Aleppo that the Game Association pays great attention to clubs because they are the basis for developing sports, and that the tournament enjoyed strong competitions and wide participation and witnessed advanced levels, pointing to the good level of arbitration because it was conducted according to a system approved by the The International Federation of the Game, through which the matches that may witness a case of refereeing error are reviewed.
Head of the Technical Committee for Wrestling in Aleppo Abdullah Shobak indicated that this tournament is among a number of central tournaments held by sports federations during this year in Aleppo, which indicates the return of Aleppo to its distinguished sports position in hosting tournaments and organizing them according to the required technical levels.
The international referee, Salah Ghalia, explained that the tournament was characterized by the good technical level of the players, and no case of objection to the arbitration was recorded, noting that the referees were all classified and followed central courses in the international law of the game.
A number of crowned players confirmed that the will, determination and continuous training enabled them to compete vigorously and achieve good results in this tournament, noting at the same time their readiness to maintain and develop their technical level for the upcoming benefits.
