The Social Union for Housing announces that it will seize the public prosecutor after a new false declaration by Eric Zemm

The Social Union for Housing (USH), which represents the HLM Movement, announced on Monday, February 7 by press release, its intention to file a complaint with the public prosecutor against Éric Zemmour for his "stigmatizing and misleading remarks to with regard to HLM organizations and their occupants".

The USH, chaired by Emmanuelle Cosse, recalls that "for 150 years, social housing organizations have welcomed French or foreign populations into social housing, without discrimination, contributing to making France, by housing France as it is , a land of welcome and integration”.

During an interview granted in the morning to France Inter, the far-right candidate affirmed that "everyone knows today, all French people know today, except perhaps in this studio and in the office of the gentleman who directs Abbé Pierre, that the HLMs are lands of Islamization of the country", and that "everyone knows today, especially the poor people and the good people who have remained, who have not been able to flee these HLMs which had become dens of kebabs and veiled women, not to mention drug trafficking".

With these words, Éric Zemmour “is instrumentalizing once again, and once too much, social housing and the people who live there to feed his theses”, indicates the HLM movement.

“The 11 million HLM tenants who live in social housing, the 80,000 employees and administrators who work daily to help low-income households cope with economic and social or security difficulties, are insulted by these comments from Mr. Zemmour. , which only aim to exacerbate the tensions of society against them”.

Asked about his housing policy, the presidential candidate intends to abolish the law relating to Urban Solidarity and Renewal, known as SRU, which imposes a quota of at least 25% social housing in the major municipalities that are part of an agglomeration of more than 50,000 inhabitants.
