The University of Hong Kong announced today (7th) that an employee who worked on the 10th floor of Niulushi Building was confirmed to have tested positive for the virus today.
The school said that the offices on the 9th and 10th floors will be closed tomorrow.
According to the website of the University of Hong Kong, the office of President Zhang Xiang is on the 10th floor.
In addition, the school appeals to the teachers and students who have been to the Niulushi Building from January 28 to February 4 to undergo a new crown lung test as soon as possible, and do not return to the campus until the negative result is obtained.
Patient's last day to go to work on February 4
The University of Hong Kong sent a letter to all teachers and students today, stating that it received a notification today that a staff member on campus had tested positive. The staff member was working on the 10th floor of the Niulushi Building, where the administrative and management departments of the university are concentrated, and will work on the last day of February 4.
The school pointed out that the contact tracing work is still awaiting the instructions of the Center for Health Protection, but it is recommended that teachers and students who have been to Nurushi Building from January 28 to February 4 should be tested for new coronary pneumonia as soon as possible. Do not return to campus until a negative result.
HKU Property Office will arrange cleaning and disinfection of the 9th and 10th floors and public areas of the building.
The two-story office will be closed tomorrow.
