The breaking point is approaching for Barkhane.
Until now, military cooperation between France and the Malian armed forces has remained somehow preserved from political tensions between the two capitals.
Since 2013, France has been fighting in the Sahel against armed jihadist groups.
Some 4,800 soldiers are engaged.
The latest joint operations, on which the general staff willingly communicates, have moreover obtained tactical successes.
But the almost irreversible deterioration of relations between the junta and its partners eventually percolated.
The troops on the ground are beginning to be hindered and the device to be scrambled by political orders from the junta, Malian soldiers receiving the instruction to no longer work with the elements of the Barkhane force.
