Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi affirmed today that the US administration's adherence to the policies of the government of former President Donald Trump is a major stumbling block in the path of progress in the ongoing negotiations in Vienna on the nuclear agreement.
Today, during a telephone conversation with Japanese Prime Minister Kishida Fumio, Raisi expressed his country's readiness to raise the level of relations and cooperation with other countries, including Japan, within the framework of achieving mutual interests, noting that Tehran and Tokyo can contribute to expanding peace and stability at the regional and international levels.
On the other hand, Raisi warned that foreign interference is the main cause of insecurity in the region, calling for a solution to the Yemeni crisis by resorting to the (Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue).
For his part, Fumio expressed his desire to raise the level of relations and activate the joint energies of cooperation between Tokyo and Tehran.
Talks to restore the nuclear agreement were initiated in the spring of last year between Iran and the countries that are still party to the agreement, namely Germany, China, France, Britain and Russia, while the Americans participate in an indirect way.
