The US authorities announced today that the evacuation of seven schools, mostly of black students, in Washington, due to threats of bombs.

Reuters quoted the District of Columbia Police Department as saying that a high school received a threat while the husband of Kamla Harris, Vice President of the United States, was visiting it, noting that four public high schools and three independent schools had received bomb threats, and Washington police later announced that there were no dangerous substances in Dunbar High School, confirming There are also no explosives in other schools.

Authorities have not indicated any racial link to the wave of bomb threats, but such incidents have raised concerns among black communities, which are already wary of a spate of bomb threats received last week by at least 12 historic black colleges and universities across the country.
