Tried to infiltrate the country - but a small mistake indicted them Israel today

The border controllers were in shock: in the travel documents of those who introduced themselves as Ben Gurion Airport employees, the same name was stamped - "Oshrat"

As befits a crowded and bustling place, from time to time unusual cases are recorded at Ben Gurion Airport. But a strange chain of events like the one that took place there in recent months, even the airport veterans do not remember.

The people of the Population and Immigration Authority have recently received quite a few reports of foreign workers trying to infiltrate Israel without a permit.

Some arrive in Israel dressed as Ben Gurion Airport workers, others wear airline workers' uniforms.

But as the border control authorities of the Population and Immigration Authority have noticed, the infiltration method is creative - but in the test the result is not really successful.

Each such certificate of transfer shall bear the name of the holder of the certificate, in Hebrew and English.

But it turns out that in the documents of the foreign workers, most of them from Georgia, one woman's name was repeated in Hebrew: Oshrat, an employee of Israir at Ben Gurion Airport. It seems that the person who forges the certificates for the infiltrators does not speak Hebrew, to say the least, and therefore gets embarrassingly confused in translating into English: the certificate of one of the workers reads the name Dani Daniel, and the certificate of another - Moshe Narat;

The forgers forgot to change the Hebrew name "Oshrat", as mentioned.

When "Israel Today" approached her for a response, Oshrat was very surprised.

She admitted that she was unaware of the matter, and immediately updated the security officials at Israir.

The original transit permit allows Ben Gurion Airport workers to reach most of the areas in it. It is used to open doors and expose the most sensitive and intriguing areas of the airport. In a smart reader, is considered extremely sophisticated and difficult to forge.

Naturally, foreign workers persist in their attempts to enter Israel illegally.

The Population and Immigration Authority has to deal with many such cases.

In June 2019, a network of workers at Ben Gurion Airport was exposed, who allegedly fled thousands of foreigners in a sophisticated way, which was then called the "underground tunnel at Ben Gurion Airport."

"The role of border controllers is, among other things, to identify cases such as these, where travelers come to settle in Israel and not to tour it, as they claim," explained the director general of the Population and Immigration Authority, Tomer Moskowitz, adding: " "Which made it easier for us to understand that this is an attempt to forge an identity - and for that, praise is coming to the border controllers."
