Tom Mualem is the 19-year-old young man who was charged with aggravated murder while abusing the late Yaakov Cohen, a 61-year-old resident of Tel Aviv.
He stabbed, beat and strangled the deceased until he died.
Upon completion of the murder he filmed videos of the deceased's body and stole his credit card.
According to the indictment filed by Adv. Kinneret Moore Kahan, the defendant and the late Cohen met through a dating site, and near their acquaintance the defendant moved into Cohen's apartment, but after the latter discovered that the defendant had stolen his money, he asked him to leave the apartment.
About a week after the incident, the defendant called Cohen and asked him to allow him to stay in the apartment for only one night and he granted the request.
The defendant arrived at the apartment and after browsing websites dealing with dead bodies, took a sharp and large knife from the kitchen and stabbed the late Cohen in the neck and head. Cohen managed to get to his feet and escape towards the apartment door, but the defendant achieved, "The top of it popped powerfully on the floor, took a massive and large wooden object, and struck it with the head of the deceased with great force.
Mualem then checked Cohen's pulse and explained that while he was still alive, he took a large sofa cushion and pressed it to the deceased's face in order to bring about his death.
Immediately afterwards, the defendant again took the knife and stabbed Cohen dozens of more times, shouting at him: Lee, I'll slaughter you, you son of Sh ** ".
At this point, the defendant took another, sharpened knife, which was in his bag, and inserted the two knives into the depth of the cavity of the deceased, leaving them there.
