Four people supporting anti-border activists who had occupied a building in Calais, evacuated on Friday, will be tried in immediate appearance on Monday for "

violence against persons holding public authority

" learned AFP on Saturday from the Boulogne-sur prosecutor's office. -Wed.

The hearing is due to take place at 2:00 p.m. before the Boulogne-sur-Mer criminal court.

These four young people, three French and a Belgian national, are suspected of having, on Thursday evening, "

committed voluntary violence against the personnel of the Bac de Calais

", throwing projectiles at them, without causing any injuries, near of the building occupied, indicated the parquet floor of Boulogne-sur-Mer to AFP.

They were immediately taken into custody.

Near the occupied building, access to which was cordoned off by the police, “

groups of individuals

” had then “

targeted the police by throwing projectiles

”, according to the prefecture.

Placed under judicial supervision, three of them are also being prosecuted for “

refusal to signal

” and one for “

provision of an imaginary identity

”.

Friday morning, the Raid intervened to ensure the evacuation of the building, occupied for several days by activists demanding better treatment of migrants and "

freedom of movement

".

More than a dozen police officers were dropped off during overflights of a gendarmerie helicopter on the roof of this disused social building slated for demolition.

The operation took place without incident, the occupants having left the premises, probably alerted by the helicopter, had specified during a press briefing the departmental director of public security Benoît Desferet.

They were then "

twenty

" according to the prefecture.

The prefecture indicated that the building had been "

illegally occupied since February 7

" by "

people of different nationalities: French, British, Italian and Dutch, claiming to be from the no-border movement

".

These activists for their part denounced an “

illegal

” expulsion, highlighting a “

disproportionate

” intervention by the police.
