Fear: War in Europe will lead to worse nuclear deal Israel today

Political sources believe that opening a campaign will divert attention from the talks in Vienna • Republicans and Democrats criticize Biden: "Stay true to the principles we have set"

The start of a war on the part of Russia against Ukraine will lead the United States to sign an even worse agreement with Iran. This is what Israeli officials fear.

Senior officials in the political system believe that a military campaign in Eastern Europe will divert the international community's already low attention from the nuclear talks in Vienna.

In the absence of US interest and ability to rigidly conduct the two struggles in parallel, a war by Russia will push it to give up even greater concessions to the Iranians.

Both in Israel and the United States, many criticize the very soft line taken by the Biden administration towards Iran. 33 senators from the Republican Party issued a joint statement last week, in which they sharply attacked President Biden's concessions to Iran.

They made it clear that if Biden did not pass the agreement to Congress for approval, they would use all the tools at their disposal to force him to do so.

The letter was initiated by Sen. Ted Cruz.

Among other things, he calls on the government not to lift sanctions on Iran.

"The Trump administration has imposed hundreds of types of sanctions, diagnoses, laws and procedures against Iran. These steps were taken after the withdrawal from the nuclear deal in 2018 and regardless of it."

Cruz,

A source in the political system told "Israel Today" that the letter means a threat to the Iranians that the current US administration cannot be trusted, since in the event of a change of government in the US, it may again withdraw from the agreement.

The Democratic Party also criticizes what is perceived as a conciliatory line towards Iran.

Senator Robert Menendez came out with a speech against the agreement.

He mentioned the promises made by senior members of the Biden administration to reach a stronger and longer-term agreement, saying they were not being implemented.

"We can not ignore the nasty support for terrorism (of Iran) or accept threats to American interests and life. We must welcome legitimate and peaceful uses that can be verified by nuclear power, but remain true to our principles of non-proliferation and our unwavering desire to build a more stable, secure and prosperous world. "The American people and all the peace-loving people. To do this, Iran must not possess nuclear weapons. Many of the concerns I expressed about the JCPOA in August 2015 return to haunt us in 2022," Menendez said.
