Against the background of the suspicion of the arson of a Jewish family home in the neighborhood, a Knesset member from Religious Zionism announced that he would return to it in order to strengthen the Jewish presence in the area • Twitter tweeted:

Following the fire that broke out yesterday (Friday) in the house of a Jewish family in Sheikh Jarrah, which was allegedly caused by arson, MK Itamar Ben Gvir announced that he would return his office to the neighborhood in East Jerusalem tomorrow morning.

This is not the first time Ben Gvir has taken such a step.

Last May, he set up a tent and a table in Sheikh Jarrah, which he defined as a bureau.

He then claimed that he took the course because the police did not fulfill their duty to protect the Jewish residents in the neighborhood, who suffered from constant harassment.

The move provoked angry reactions and clashes between local residents and police, and Ben Gvir then responded to former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's request to evacuate the bureau in exchange for his promise that the police would increase its presence in the area.

Tonight, too, Ben Gvir claims that the police are abandoning the Jewish residents in the neighborhood, and that the family whose home they allegedly tried to burn is suffering from constant harassment.

The fire occurred after numerous arsons of the family vehicle.

Just last week, police arrested several suspects in the vehicle’s latest arson incident.

This is Tal Yeshuvayev's house, Arab rioters have burned his car 9 times already, and during Shabbat they burned his house.

Miraculously the family did not stay at her home on Saturday, thus saving her life.

Where are the human rights knights you are now silent about?

Where are the Israeli police and the failed commissioner? Why are you waiting for a disaster to happen? Jewish life has become a no-brainer!

In a tweet on Twitter, Ben Gvir wrote that "miraculously, the family did not stay at home on Saturday, and thus her life was saved. Where are you, the knights of human rights, who are now silent? Where are the Israeli police and the failed commissioner?

Why are you waiting for a disaster to happen?

"Jewish life has become a no-man's land."

Following initial findings that raised suspicion of setting the apartment on fire during the Sabbath, the Jerusalem District Commander held a situation assessment at the end of which he decided to significantly increase overt and covert police activity in the area, and assigned the case to the Jerusalem District Central Unit.

In addition, the district commander instructed to involve special forces in the activity, and to investigate the case thoroughly and by all necessary means, in order to arrive at an investigation of the truth and to bring to justice those involved in the serious act.

The fire last night broke out in a two-story building where the same Jewish family lives.

There were no casualties in the incident.

Four teams of firefighters and rescuers took control of the fire.

"The fire broke out on the second floor and threatened to spread to other parts of the house. We acted quickly to prevent further damage to property. I ordered the establishment of an investigation team to investigate the circumstances of the incident," said Reshef Haim Mizrahi, commander of the Uma station.
