Venice Carnival begins with a bang, in 100 thousand over the weekend

Lights and colors in the Grand Canal (ANSA) Opening Parade, with the prologue "Venezia lux futura" officially opened tonight the dances of the Venice Carnival 2022, "Remember the Future". A water procession made up of twenty boats typical of the Venetian lagoon, which started at 7pm from Ca 'Vendramin Calergi, slid along the waters of the Grand Canal, winding through a path that saw the most exciting moment when an illuminated flying sphere


Opening Parade, with the prologue "Venezia lux futura" officially opened tonight the dances of the Venice Carnival 2022, "Remember the Future".

A water procession made up of twenty boats typical of the Venetian lagoon, which started at 7pm from Ca 'Vendramin Calergi, slid along the waters of the Grand Canal, winding through a path that saw the most exciting moment when an illuminated flying sphere was released to sway in the Venetian skies, giving a dreamlike atmosphere to the city.

In the water procession on the Grand Canal, the characters and symbols that over time have contributed to making the Venetian Carnival one of the most famous and loved in the world.

Alongside the 'Serenissima' of the Historical Regatta and two magnificent Bissone, the Venetian and the Byzantine,

at the opening the Pantegana della Festa, flanked by two boats with the Medici della Peste on board, the Bull of the Compagnia dell'Arte dei Mascareri.

Also participating in the procession was the Maria of the Carnival 2021, Mara Stefanuto, on a large swing.

The young woman wore her, wearing a costume created for the occasion by Atelier Stefano Nicolao.

The Carnival of Venice 2022, despite the soft programming to avoid the risks of the pandemic, starts with a 'bang'.

In the first two days, over 100,000 visitors were registered in the city, 55,000 of which today, Sunday.

Compared to yesterday, there was an increase of about 18 thousand guests who arrived in the lagoon from various cities in the region.

About 25,000 were foreigners, most of whom slept in the city.

23.58% are French tourists, followed by British (12.97%), Spaniards (12.89%) and Germans (7.24%).
