A Honduran judge on Tuesday (February 15th) issued an arrest warrant against former President Juan Orlando Hernandez (2014-2022), whose extradition is sought by the United States where he is accused of drug trafficking, announced the spokesperson for the Supreme Court of Honduras.

The judge was in charge
of “deciding whether he issued an arrest warrant, and it was issued
,” Melvin Duarte told a press conference.
The home of Juan Orlando Hernandez has been surrounded by around 600 police since Monday evening, when the extradition request was transmitted by the United States to Honduran justice.
