Israel is attacking the Damascus area, Syrian television reported tonight (Thursday).
The Syrian army told the Sana network that around 11:35 on Wednesday evening, Israel attacked several ground missiles from the Golan Heights with targets near the village of Zakia in southern Damascus.
According to the Syrian army, the attack led to destruction on the spot.
Earlier on Wednesday evening, a radio station close to the Assad regime reported "an echo of an explosion in the vicinity of Damascus in the Khan Sheikh area of the Western Dom when the source of the explosion is unclear."
The Syrian opposition also claimed that the Israeli attack focused on Iranian sites.
As a reminder, this is the fourth attack since the beginning of 2022. Syria reported earlier this month that in a night attack in the Damascus area a Syrian soldier was killed and five others were injured, in addition to destruction at the targets attacked.
