Find a little frog inside the lettuce salad (simoncurtis)

Adam found a little frog in a box of lettuce he bought at the supermarket, but instead of complaining to the manager and posting an angry post on social media - he decided to take care of it and grow it.

Simon Curtis, artist and actor tweeted that he found a cute frog under the pile of lettuce he bought and he named it Tony.

"I found a cute frog in the bottom of a pack of Roman lettuce, and it's too cold to send it out, but it's been living in lettuce in my fridge for a few days now, does anyone know what I need to do so it does not die?" Tony wrote in the original tweet.

From this tweet Tony began a series of tweets in which he described how he feeds the frog and takes baths for her, how she ran away twice and he and his little dog searched for her at home, and said a biologist he consulted recognized for him that it was a tree frog.

He was debating whether to release it into the wild when it warmed up outside or to raise it indoors and in the meantime he bought her a special aquarium where she now lives.

Then came a heartbreaking twist

In a conversation with the Indie 100 site about two months ago, Curtis said he still does not know if he should keep Tony: "I have a crazy affection for her, she's like a little miracle, but I do not know if she does not deserve the chance to live in nature. I consulted "A biologist from the Department of Natural History at the University of Oklahoma, and he said that in order to release her, I need a window of a few warm days so that she can survive the winter."

Despite these things, meanwhile Curtis became attached to Tony, and posted a lot of pictures and videos of the frog and at Christmas even made a sock for her to hang over the fireplace and thus made her part of the family.

Then the story changed - the New York Post reported that in a series of touching tweets Curtis revealed that he suffered from leukemia at the age of 10, and had a favorite toy of a wooden frog doll that hosted him for company during his treatments - and he believes his encounter with Tony is not accidental.

When I was 10, I was given a 50% chance of surviving leukemia.

After saying he cried he wrote: "I'm very torn - am I keeping Tony as a pet or releasing him in the next few days that will start a series of unusually hot days that will give him enough time to acclimatize and prepare for hibernation?"

He raised the issue for his followers to vote for and almost 60% of them were in favor of keeping the frog as a pet.

The viral tweets even drew attention from a pet store that offered Curtis a $ 500 gift card to help fund a terrarium and supply food for Tony.

Curtis eventually wrote that "after consulting with Dr. Jonathan Colby, a biologist and scientist who specializes in frogs and learned about the best and most environmentally sound practices in a scenario like mine - I decided to keep Tony at home."

This is Tony's new home

Tony is so happy ???

thank you to everyone who has followed and been touched by his story.

May we all extend kindness and grace to whoever and whatever, whenever we can.

Curtis shared a video showing Tony in his new home and wrote: "He is so happy. Thank you to everyone who followed his story and got excited. May we all show kindness, kindness and courtesy to everyone and whatever, whenever we can."

Eventually Curtis also returned to the place where the lettuce was bought to buy another box, but was unable to find a friend for Tony inside.
