Kamal, the French drug traffickers and the 'Black' gang: The story behind the bodies found in Elche

The police believe that revenge for a drug issue is the reason for the torture and death of a missing couple in Aspe (Alicante) in 2019

Kamal Mohamed and Elisabet Ramos met in the Alicante prison of Fontcalent.

The year was 2017. She, a Spaniard from Aspe (Alicante) was 28 years old at the time, and was serving a year and a half sentence for drug trafficking.

He, a 32-year-old from Melilla of Moroccan origin, was in preventive detention as the alleged leader of an organization that introduced large amounts of hashish into the peninsula along the Murcian coast from Morocco, specifically from the organization of Abdellah El Haj Sadek, a famous drug trafficker known popularly known as the

Messi

of hashish and who fled from Spanish justice in 2019.

Kamal had been arrested in 2017, along with 17 other people, by the National Police in the so-called Operation Charter, in which several agents of the Melilla Civil Guard, of whom he was supposedly a confidant, were also investigated.

Since then the police have not let him out of their sight.

Both, Kamal and Elisabet, left prison and met again on the street and began a public sentimental relationship known to those around them until they disappeared on June 8, 2019, as if the earth had swallowed them.

Nothing was heard of them again until last Sunday, February 6, a hiker came across a human skull and a femur while walking through the Barranco del Grifo, a wild area on the outskirts of Elche, just ten kilometers from where the couple was finishing their house.

Preliminary studies carried out by forensics and the police suggest that one of the bodies, buried gagged and handcuffed together, belongs to Kamal.

It remains to be confirmed that the other bone remains belong to Elisabet, although everything suggests that this is the case since objects belonging to her have been found in the same place, according to sources in the case.

The macabre discovery has opened a new investigation to try to find out what could have happened to the couple.

After receiving the report of her disappearance in June 2019, filed by both her and his relatives, Civil Guard agents went to the home they shared.

"Everything was mixed up, as if they had stolen, and there were traces of blood," say sources of the investigation.

Then began a search that managed to locate them in Portugal, according to the same sources, but that was always unsuccessful.

Police informants began to say that "they had been killed."

Months before the disappearance of the couple, in the month of April, there was a shooting at dawn between drug traffickers in the Fumà

cove,

in El Campello (Alicante).

It was a chase in which some tried to steal from others a significant amount of hashish that had just been landed.

The Civil Guard arrested eight people.

Specifically, as revealed by the police investigations later, they were members of what is known as the

Negro gang,

a regular collaborator of Kamal based in Murcia, also of Moroccan origin, who intended to steal the merchandise from some French drug traffickers.

The link between all of them was Kamal, according to police sources.

"He was the intermediary and the one in charge of the transport, he had brought 2,000 kilos of hashish from Morocco for some French but, at the same time, he had tipped off the Negro to do a

dump

[drug theft]", they say. the same sources.

The deal went badly for everyone, since the organized crime group of the National Police (GRECO Levante) followed Kamal's footsteps very closely at the time and managed to intercept the drug on a ship from a Murcian town, along with a good amount of weapons, among which was a

Kalashnikov

.

The shell casings seized by the Civil Guard agents in the El Campello shooting coincided with the weapons seized by the police.

The agents suspect that "someone" of the groups involved in that drug game became aware of Kamal's double game and wanted to make him pay dearly.
