There has been no trace of Rebecca Reusch from Berlin for exactly three years, and the girl is still missing.

The public prosecutor's office is now commenting on the current status of the investigation.

Berlin - It is one of the most mysterious criminal cases in Germany: the disappearance of the then 15-year-old Rebecca Reusch from Berlin.

February 18, 2019 marks the third anniversary of the student's disappearance, and there is still no trace of Rebecca.

Although investigators still believe the teenager is dead, no body has been found.

However, investigators still harbor suspicions.

Only recently did the family of the missing Rebecca Reusch speak on a TV show.

Above all, the girl's parents leave no stone unturned to embrace their Rebecca after all.

The missing student from Berlin would now be grown up and 18 years old.

However, investigators at least no longer believe that the girl will be found alive.

Although the investigations in the case are not over, the detectives are still missing the decisive clue.

"Unfortunately, there is no news in this matter," said a spokesman for the Berlin public prosecutor's office to the dpa - as was the case a year ago.

The family only spoke to RTL presenter Nazan Eckes in December.

So the parents, Bernd and Brigitte Reusch, reported, among other things, from the moment when the girl's brother-in-law was arrested and taken away from the house.

In the search for her Rebecca, hope also germinated over time, the girl is said to have been seen several times after her disappearance.

Rebecca Reusch was last officially seen the night before she disappeared at her older sister's house.

Her husband, the teenager's brother-in-law, quickly moves into the circle of suspects for investigators.

However, guilt cannot be proven, and the presumption of innocence still applies to the man.

Nothing has changed to this day in a statement by the public prosecutor's office to the dpa from 2020: "We continue to assume that Rebecca did not leave the brother-in-law's house alive.

All alternative events (...) can be ruled out after the investigation.

There are no indications at all that people voluntarily left their home environment.” Kidnapping from home or on the way to school can also be ruled out.

The police found no traces of a crime in the house or in the car.

It remains unclear whether the disappearance of the student will ever be clarified.
