The Ukrainian border guards announced the "loss of control" over the Ukrainian island of Zmyni in the Black Sea, which is administratively affiliated to the Odessa region in the south of the country and close to the border with Romania.
"According to the available information, the island of Zmyni has been occupied," TASS news agency quoted the Ukrainian border guards as saying in a Facebook post, adding that "contact with the Ukrainian soldiers and border guards on the island was lost."
It is noteworthy that Zmini Island is located in the Black Sea, 35 km from the Ukrainian coast.
The forces of the Donetsk People's Republic announced that more than 30 Ukrainian soldiers withdrew from their positions in the Donetsk province in eastern Ukraine.
