Despite the crisis in relations: Lapid discounted the departure of the Israeli ambassador to Poland, to Warsaw

This directive was issued with the aim of promoting assistance to Israeli citizens crossing the border from Ukraine to Poland.

The move is a change in the policy of the Foreign Ministry, which a few months ago decided not to send the ambassador because of the crisis in relations with Poland.

Despite the crisis in relations with Poland over the Property Law, this morning (Saturday) Foreign Minister Yair Lapid instructed the departure of Israel's ambassador to Poland, Yaakov Livna, to Warsaw.

The Foreign Ministry said that Lapid made the decision to cut the situation in the Foreign Ministry, in order to promote assistance to Israeli citizens crossing the border from Ukraine to Poland and given the importance of the events and the central place that Poland fills them with.

At the same time, the Prime Minister's Office announced that it will hold a discussion in the Political-Security Cabinet tomorrow on the crisis in Ukraine.

Lapid's directives constitute a change in his policy, which a few months ago decided not to send her son to Poland because of the crisis in relations with her.

The Foreign Ministry said that since the beginning of the crisis in Ukraine, the Israeli embassy in Warsaw, headed by Commissioner Tal Ya'alon, has been working in fruitful cooperation with the Polish authorities in an effort to assist Israelis leaving Ukraine.

"We would like to express our gratitude to the Polish authorities for their assistance," it said.

"Livna is expected to leave for Warsaw early tomorrow morning and submit his charter in the near future," Foreign Ministry spokesman Lior Hayat said.

"The Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like to thank the Israeli Commissioner in Warsaw, Tal Ya'alon, for her work and leadership."
