More than 30 people were injured in a bus accident in the Traunstein district on Saturday morning.

A tour bus went off the road and slid down a slope.

The police headquarters in Upper Bavaria South has now issued an official press release on the bus accident near Inzell.

It also states that the accident occurred on the B306 and not the B305.

However, both roads meet shortly after Inzell.

In the report, the police confirmed that there were eleven seriously injured and 21 slightly to moderately severely injured.

The accident probably happened near the ice rink, shortly after leaving Inzell.

A tour group from the Warendorf district in North Rhine-Westphalia was on its way to a skiing trip in the Chiemgau Alps in a Setra bus.

The 58-year-old bus driver then left the road on the right around 7:30 a.m.

The vehicle slid several meters down an embankment and came to rest there.

According to the police, many children and a number of young people and young adults were among the injured, the report said.

Police forces, various fire brigades in the region as well as rescue workers and rescue helicopters were on site to help the people involved in the accident.

"Bundesstraße 306 had to be completely closed in the area of ​​​​the accident site, the blockage will last into the afternoon due to the salvage work," writes the police.

The public prosecutor's office in Traunstein has now taken over the management of the accident.

The police investigation is being conducted by the Traunstein Police Inspectorate.

An expert was also sent to the scene of the accident to clarify the course of the accident.

A total of 32 people are said to have been injured.

The bus company concerned comes from North Rhine-Westphalia, but it was initially unclear whether the passengers came from there.

Some of those affected were cared for in a nearby ice rink.

Based on the traces on site and initial interviews, the police assume that the bus left the road without any outside involvement and toppled down an embankment several meters high to the right.
