"Hong Kong 01" received help from a number of staff of Hong Chi Pine Hill No. 3 School, saying that the school began to break out on the 17th. By the 25th, nearly 40 boarders and staff had tested positive for rapid tests, and only about 5 of them were in serious condition. Residents were admitted to the hospital, and the others were required to stay at their original location for isolation.

It is understood that the school is divided into four dormitories. The first dormitory first broke out, and the epidemic later spread to the second dormitory. At present, no one in the third and fourth dormitory has been infected.

According to sources, both the first and second dormitories are women's dormitories, and the students in the former are younger and less physically fit.

Severely mentally handicapped children have difficulty wearing masks

Miss X (pseudonym), a school staff member, revealed that because all the students in the school are severely mentally handicapped children, it is difficult to wear masks all the time, so the spread is serious.

She pointed out that due to the shortage of manpower, teachers also need to go back to school to help and take care of the dormers. She bluntly said that those who "have no two lines" (positive) in the rapid test need to go to work.

Some of the staff who took care of the residents contracted the virus, some chose to go home for isolation, and some decided to stay in school for fear of infecting their family members.

However, Ms X said those who stayed on campus would still need to continue working even if the rapid test was positive.

She also pointed out that the protective equipment on campus is insufficient, and only employees who take care of the dormitory will be issued protective clothing.

Staff Crash Help

"I really can't control it. It's getting more and more terrifying. Seeing that the dormitories are being recruited one by one." Miss X bluntly said that many staff are now feeling collapsed. .

She said that while she was worried that she was infected with the virus, she was also afraid that she would infect her family when she went home: "Unless I no longer do this job, the school has made a schedule, and I still have to go back. I can't even protect myself, how can I protect my students? ?" She expressed the hope that the government and all walks of life will find ways to help the school.

Ms. X also said that after the Education Bureau announced in January that the school would stop face-to-face teaching, the school did not comply. It just changed the previous grade-based face-to-face teaching to dormitory and day students, and continued to teach above.

Until a student in the school's first dormitory developed symptoms on the 17th, the school stopped the face-to-face arrangement.
