British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace is concerned that Russia could use "mobile crematoria" in the Ukraine conflict to cover up death tolls on the spot.

Kiev/Moscow - It is an inconspicuous truck that the British newspaper

Telegraph

shows in a video.

But when the loading area opens a few seconds after clicking on play, a depressing feeling inevitably arises against the background of the current Ukraine conflict.

You can see a kind of rolling crematorium that, according to British Defense Minister Ben Wallace, Russia's ruler Vladimir Putin could use in the rapidly progressing war of aggression against Ukraine to "evaporate" fallen soldiers.

Putin's supposed intention behind it: to cover up war victims so as not to prevent further demonstrations in their own country.

The background: Since Thursday (February 24), protests against the invasion of Ukraine have been taking place in some Russian cities.

The conflict has a long history.

And demonstrations in Russia are not new either: criticism of the loss of troops was voiced in Russia as early as 2014 after the annexation of Crimea.

Ukraine conflict: Is Russia manipulating its own death toll in the war?

This should now apparently be prevented.

The

Telegraph

reports that the crematoria would follow troops on their way to the Ukrainian capital of Kiev to "vaporize" the bodies of Russian soldiers.

According to Wallace, this could be used to manipulate the number of Russian casualties.

The number of casualties on both sides in the Ukraine conflict is unclear.

The official information on Friday evening (February 25): Ukraine is said to have reported at least 200 fatalities, Russia around 450. An unnamed senior official in Brussels expressed concerns about the numbers: “My feeling is that there are probably many more casualties .” This map illustrates where the Ukraine War is raging and this map shows the areas already conquered in the Ukraine War.

Ukraine conflict: is a crematorium on wheels following Russian soldiers to cover up the dead?

Wallace is concerned about the crematorium rumors: "If I were a soldier and knew that my generals would have so little faith in me that they would follow me with a mobile crematorium, or that I was the mother or father of a son who was in... deployed in a combat zone and my government is trying to cover up the losses with a mobile crematorium, I would be very, very concerned," the Defense Secretary told the

Telegraph

.

However , the images of the crematorium video published by the

Telegraph

are not up-to-date - the green trees in the background alone indicate this.

For Wallace, however, the very existence of the trucks is worrying.

“Disturbing side note” in the Ukraine conflict: Video shows Russian mobile crematorium

Wallace calls the possibility of using a mobile crematorium "a disturbing side note" of the Ukraine conflict.

That would show how the Russians felt about their armed forces and their soldiers, the British defense secretary said.

"As a soldier, knowing that if you're killed there's something coming after you that could vaporize you says everything you need to know about the Russian regime," Wallace added.
