The Ukrainian Opposition Platform for Life party called on the ruling authorities in Kiev to urgently start negotiations with Moscow and declare Ukraine to remain neutral between Russia and NATO.
The party's deputy, Yuri Boyko, said in a statement carried by the Russia Today channel that the party supports the urgent start of peace talks between Ukraine and Russia, and we will do our best to start these negotiations.
He stressed that the party counts on Ukraine's neutral status, adding, "I really hope that the authorities will enter into negotiations today with Russia and we urge it to take this step publicly and privately, and that the matter will end peacefully on the basis of the conditions that we heard about previously, which are related to the neutral status."
He added, "No one is calling us to join NATO, and we have already understood the essence of this alliance. We will certainly insist on declaring the country's neutral position."
Yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his readiness to send a Russian delegation to Minsk to conduct negotiations with Ukraine, but Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky refused to start talks, citing the inappropriate Russian conditions.
