Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called on NATO countries to take responsibility for their actions in Ukraine before holding Russia accountable for its disarmament of the ruling Nazis there.
"Western countries have been indifferently watching the killing and abuse of thousands of civilians in the Lugansk and Donetsk republics for eight years, until they became accomplices in the genocide," Zakharova said in a statement today.
Zakharova indicated that the United States and its NATO allies are not interested in a settlement in Ukraine and have a desire to continue sending weapons there.
The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman stressed the need for those Western countries to bear responsibility for their military adventures and failure to encourage the regime in Ukraine to resolve the Donbass problem peacefully before calling on Russia to be held accountable for the disarmament process.
