"Regarding the ban on broadcasting RT and Sputnik channels in the European Union, I officially announce that no employee who works faithfully and continues to work for us in any country will be dismissed," Simonyan said on her Twitter account.

Simonyan added, "We know how to do our work in the conditions of the ban. These (freedom lovers) have been preparing us for this for eight years."

Simonyan's statement came after European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the European Union would ban the two Russian media organizations and their subsidiaries in the European Union.

The Russian Monitoring Committee (Roscom Nadzor) announced the restriction of access to the Facebook platform in Russia two days ago in response to the platform's ban on Russian media and its imposition of restrictions on others.

The committee explained that these restrictions violate the principles of free circulation and access to information.
