The area planted with winter vegetable crops in the lands under the supervision of the General Authority for the Management and Development of the Forest in Hama during the current season reached 1096 hectares out of the total planned plan amounting to 1047 hectares, with an implementation rate of more than 100 percent.
The Director of Plant Wealth in the Authority, Engineer Wafiq Zarouf, told SANA reporter that the most important winter vegetables that are grown in the Al-Ghab area are spinach, beans, lettuce, parsley and cabbage, indicating that the high rate of implementation of the vegetable cultivation plan this season came due to good rains, availability of production requirements and the short production cycle, in addition to Its financial returns are good and the local market needs it.
