Abstract.

It is one more threat in Vladimir Putin's war against Kiev.

According to the British daily The Times, 400 Russian mercenaries from the Wagner force have been sent to Ukraine to eliminate the country's president, Volodymyr Zelensky.

Since its appearance around 2014, this unofficial paramilitary group, which would number several thousand men, has been operating in conflict zones of interest to Moscow.

Through his violent actions on the ground and social networks, Wagner would act as a secret army on behalf of the Kremlin

Wagner's men are accused of having committed numerous abuses, particularly in Africa, where they grab resources and wealth in their path.

Even if the Kremlin denies any connection with this group, its presumed leader is close to the Russian president.

This episode of Code source is narrated by Benjamin Jérôme, journalist at Parisien Week-End, and Alexandra Jousset, journalist and co-director with Ksenia Bolchakova of the documentary "Wagner: Vladimir Poutine's shadow army", broadcast on France 5.
