Tehran-Sana

The head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization, Mohammad Eslami, stressed the need for the International Atomic Energy Agency to deal with Iran's nuclear program in a professional manner, away from politicization or external pressures.

Islami said during a joint press conference with Rafael Grossi, Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, in Tehran today: "We assured Grossi that the issues would remain within their natural framework and not be affected by any external and political pressures, and we agreed to exchange some files until the end of next May."

Regarding the Zionist entity's threats to Iran's nuclear program, Islami said, "These continuous threats have not and will not be able to reach their goals, and any threat or interference in the course of our cooperation, we have the right to confront it."

For his part, Grossi said, "We had fruitful negotiations, and there are other negotiations related to them, and we tried to address important issues," adding: "Iran provided transparent explanations, and we also sought to take practical ways to make the steps regular, and we exchanged views to reach a positive result."

Grossi stressed that peaceful nuclear energy is necessary for Iran and the rest of the countries, and said: “Taking into account all global events and the Corona pandemic, we reached the necessity of commensurate production of peaceful nuclear energy with these developments,” noting the importance of an agreement between the two sides to continue future work based on transparency, justice, and access to A common understanding about cooperation with Iran.

He said, "It is difficult to imagine the possibility of reviving the nuclear agreement unless the issue of security guarantees is resolved and there are still matters that Iran has to address."

Eslami and Grossi discussed ways to resolve the remaining issues between Iran and the IAEA as one of the necessary steps to reach an agreement in the Vienna negotiations.
