Today, 4 distinguished women who were able to overcome difficulties and achieve their dreams in various fields presented their success stories, which they achieved with determination and will, during an event entitled “Success Story” held by the Heritage Department of the Tartous Culture Directorate on the stage of the Arab Cultural Center.

Hiam Khalil from the Heritage Department stated that the event comes to celebrate International Women's Day, which falls on March 8 of each year, stressing that Syrian women are generous, patient, productive and successful in various fields despite the difficulties and challenges they face.

Among the women’s stories, Najla Burghul, who comes from Lattakia governorate, indicated that she obtained her preparatory and secondary certificates after she was over sixty, then entered the Library and Information Department at Tishreen University.

She said: "My success story is a message to every Syrian woman that... nothing stands in the way of ambition, whatever the challenges, and that age is not an obstacle to reaching the goal," noting the support of her children, grandchildren and university professors for her, which contributed to helping her achieve her dream.

In turn, Abbas girl indicated that the death of her son Hadi, after suffering with cerebral palsy, devoted her a lot of patience and challenge to complete the 17-year journey of her son’s work with playing and making accessories through a small project that includes his works and products with his friends, stressing that her story is a message to every mother who suffers and suffered that success It is as great as the pain is also great.

For her part, Nayouf described the new life that she started after recovering from breast cancer, as she accepted it with patience and high spirits to complete her life with every dose of treatment leading to recovery, noting that she learned many manual labors and obtained international certificates in human development and others.

As for Thana Al-Ahmad, she showed that she succeeded in converting what she learned while she was outside Syria in the eighties of the origins of the barber and beautician profession into a special project through which she learned many women willing to do so to help them establish their own projects.

Dr. Thaer Ibrahim, supervisor of Najlaa Burghul’s graduation project, entitled “Evolution towards the digital environment,” said that what Syrian women have achieved is a source of pride and honor, and Ms. Najlaa, along with other women, present today an example of the success of Syrian women in various fields.
