In the regional gastro scene, the next coup is in the bag: The traditional "Alte Wirt" in Emmering has a new owner - and he already has precise ideas about how the restaurant should continue.

Emmering

- The beer garden of the "Alten Wirt" is a popular destination for locals and day-trippers in summer.

The hall on the upper floor, where a theater stage used to be and a weekend cinema in the post-war period, is now used by a darts club.

The family of Ludwig Steinsberger (62) owned the property with the restaurant on the street Am Bachwörth near the church in the third generation.

Steinsberger's grandfather bought the restaurant in 1919, which was first mentioned in a document in 1760.

Now the grandson has sold the house “locally”.

The new owner is Bernd Sollinger (38), who also grew up in Emmering.

The sales process took several months.

Now it has been made perfect with the entry in the land registry.

According to the plans of the new owner, the economy should continue as usual.

Restaurateur Goran Jokic, who has leased the "Alten Wirt" since December 2004, will stay.

His contract runs until 2024. The Bavarian with Croatian roots, who lives in Olching, is currently closed on Sunday evenings, Mondays and Tuesdays due to the Corona crisis.

After the sale, however, he is looking to the future with good courage.

At first, an entrepreneur from Fürstenfeldbruck who grew up in Emmering had expressed an interest in buying the “Alten Wirt”.

After this option was smashed, Bernd Sollinger got on board.

The 38-year-old played football for FC Emmering for many years and was coach of the second team.

He was often in the FCE clubhouse, where he gained his first insights into the catering trade.

It is true that Sollinger travels all over Germany as the sales manager of a ready-mixed concrete company.

But he is always well informed about everything that is going on in his home country.

When he heard that the "Alter Wirt" was for sale, his interest was piqued.

Regardless of the necessary extensive renovations, Sollinger promises: "The old innkeeper is a Bavarian restaurant and will remain one." After months of negotiations and the associated rumors, Steinsberger was relieved that the contract had been signed by the notary and that the last official requirements had been met.

His father renovated and modernized the "Alten Wirt" 17 years ago, next to which there was a butcher's shop until 1985.

This included painting the facade with Lüftlmalereien around the windows.
