Today, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research inaugurated the Student Service Center in the Central Library of the University of Aleppo with the aim of providing multiple services to students, including grade sheets, academic postponement certificates, etc., and simplifying the procedures for them.
After the opening, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, met a group of students during an open dialogue to discuss their problems and answer their inquiries.
In a statement to SANA’s correspondent, Minister Ibrahim explained the importance of establishing a service center for the student at the University of Aleppo after its establishment in the ministry and some universities, which contributes to giving the student the documents he needs during his university life, such as academic postponement, revealing grades, etc., simplifying the procedures in front of him, completing his transactions quickly and reducing his burden.
He also indicated that work will be done in the future to increase and expand the services provided to students and university administrative and scientific cadres to include non-judgmental and non-employee documents, and others, pointing out that all issues raised by students in the open dialogue will be followed up.
Discussions during the open dialogue focused on the demand for practical laboratories for colleges, reducing the amount of dispatch guarantee, expediting the issuance of graduation certificates, securing university housing for teaching assistants, reconsidering the age requirement for appointing teaching assistants in faculties, equipping college laboratories, linking the university to the labor market, developing curricula, and supporting project owners in the Al-Bassel Exhibition for Creativity and Invention, among others.
During the meeting, the President of the National Union of Syrian Students, Dareen Suleiman, stressed the importance of devoting a culture of dialogue to exchanging experiences, the need to start from reality in posing problems, the importance of students' participation in decision-making, and the need to meet their demands.
And the President of Aleppo University, Dr. Maher Karman, stated that the university has taken all necessary measures to open the Student Service Center, which provides many electronic services and equips it with all the necessities, while Dr. Tariq Al-Jassem, Secretary of Aleppo University, explained that the purpose of the center is to address congestion while students extract their university papers.
The director of the center, Engineer Luna Al-Yaseen, indicated that it provides quick electronic services for students without procedural complications, as it follows up their transactions and delivers them to them through a private and secure communications network.
