New York-Sana

Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations, Vassily Nebenzia, stressed that Russia is working to ensure the safe evacuation of civilians in Ukraine, and neo-Nazis in Ukraine are using civilians as human shields.

During a Security Council session on Ukraine, Nebenzia made it clear that the nationalists' use of civilians as hostages is not only an ethical act, but also violates the rules of international humanitarian law, including Additional Protocol I to the Geneva Conventions.

Nebenzia said that the deployment of heavy weapons, including defense systems and rocket launchers, in residential areas has become a regular practice, despite the many calls from the Ukrainians themselves to remove these weapons from safe areas.

Nebenzia called on council members to adopt a correct approach and an objective assessment of the situation and not to encourage Ukrainian radicals to commit additional crimes. That was agreed upon to get out of the civil.

Nebenzia warned that the situation is exacerbated by what the radicals are doing on a daily basis and the Ukrainian authorities' refusal to cooperate in evacuating people from the cities of Kharkov and Sumy, explaining that the aggravation of the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Mariupol and Kiev prompted the Russian armed forces to declare a ceasefire at ten in the morning and open humanitarian corridors In Sumy, Kiev, and Mariupol, towards Russian territory for those who wish to evacuate, which Kyiv ignored with an official response by the Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister, describing the proposal to propose humanitarian corridors towards Russia as unacceptable.

Nebenzia revealed that Kyiv is using all means that prevent its citizens from leaving for Russia, stressing that Moscow is working to secure temporary shelters and is coordinating with citizens to receive civilians arriving from Ukraine.

Nebenzia expressed his country's concern about the continuation of the Ukrainian extremist nationalists to take hostages and use them as human shields.

With regard to the safety of United Nations personnel in Ukraine, Nebenzia said: “This is of course one of our priorities, and currently the Russian armies have ensured the exit of 180 United Nations employees from Kyiv,” stressing that this support will continue, especially that the Disaster Management Center has established a humanitarian response unit within the framework of the operation taking place in Ukraine. all the time.
