People's Assembly: The Glorious March Revolution is a true reflection of the aspirations of our people

The People's Assembly affirmed that the glorious March 8 revolution came as a lively and realistic expression and a true reflection of the aspirations of the proud Syrian Arab people in their legitimate aspirations to build a united Arab society.

The council said in a statement on the occasion of the 59th anniversary of the glorious March 8 revolution, which SANA received a copy of, that “the March 8 revolution was a real and natural extension of the thought and struggle of the Arab Socialist Baath Party and the beginning of a new phase in Syria’s history, especially with the establishment of the blessed corrective movement led by the founding leader. Hafez al-Assad, which came to correct the course of the revolution, whose title was building a modern Syria, laid the foundations of comprehensive national unity, and made many achievements at all political, economic and social levels, and established constitutional, democratic, legislative and popular life.

The Council pointed out that with the development and modernization of reality and in light of the challenges and accelerating events on the local, regional and international arenas, came the approach of development and modernization launched by President Bashar al-Assad, which brought about fundamental and fundamental changes and transformations in all aspects of life and consolidated the foundations of the state of institutions.

The Council added that the terrorist wars we were subjected to in Syria for more than ten years, in which the forces of evil, terrorism and global aggression, targeting humans, stones and infrastructure, and the unjust economic sieges imposed on us now are nothing but desperate attempts to undermine the gains that have been achieved over the past years. And to dissuade us from our principled and consistent patriotic and nationalist positions.

At the conclusion of its statement, the Council saluted the masses of our proud and loyal Syrian people, and the heroes of our Syrian Arab Army, who achieved victories and sacrificed their lives and pure blood for the soil of Syria, asking mercy and eternity for the souls of the great martyrs of the homeland.
