A group of National Guard soldiers pick up debris from the charred carcass of the gas pump at the western exit of Kiev on Gorenka Road.
The Russian missile left a crater 4 meters in diameter and pulverized everything within a radius of 100 meters.
The flames finished devouring the building as Ukrainian forces fired volleys of shells towards Gorenka, 6 kilometers further to the west.
They target the positions of the Russian army which is trying to break through from the town of Irpin via this axis towards the center of Kiev, located 15 kilometers to the east.
A volunteer from the Ukrainian national guard agrees to speak to the foreign journalist on one condition:
"Tell your country to close the skies, that these motherfuckers of Russians stop their bombardments!"
Europe and NATO refuse at this stage to impose a no-fly zone, a measure which would be considered as a declaration of war by the Russia of Vladimir Putin, nuclear power…
