At the heart of the Carrier Strike Group (GAN), the French aircraft carrier, accompanied by three frigates, a tanker and an attack submarine, was to sail towards the eastern Mediterranean to join Operation Inherent Resolve in the fight against Daesh, as part of its Clemenceau 22 mission. With the start of the war in Ukraine, it stopped halfway to carry out, since March 3, reassurance missions for the benefit of NATO and assert a presence against Vladimir Putin's navy.
