Damascus, SANA- The Faculty of Sharia at Damascus University celebrated today the graduation of 234 male and female students and honored the outstanding among them.

Today, the Faculty of Sharia at Damascus University celebrated the graduation of 234 male and female students and honored the outstanding among them on the Al-Basel Coliseum in the Faculty of Civil Engineering.

In a speech during the graduation ceremony, Minister of Awqaf Dr. Muhammad Abdul-Sattar Al-Sayed referred to the message and the role entrusted to graduates to be role models in society, indicating that work in the religious institution has a distinct privacy by linking rituals to purposes, dropping the text on reality, and linking the sciences received by students to their behavior.

Minister Al-Sayyid stressed the need for the graduates to take their role by contributing to confronting extremist ideology, just as the religious establishment confronted terrorism and extremist religious thought, and offered martyrs for that from its scholars and preachers of its mosques during the terrorist war on Syria.

For his part, the President of Damascus University, Dr. Muhammad Osama Al-Jabban, pointed out that the Faculty of Sharia represents a distinguished title at the level of Arab universities and universities in the region, as it was a scientific destination for students in Arab and Islamic countries in order to graduate cadres who meet the conditions of a student of Sharia knowledge.

In turn, the Dean of the College, Dr. Muhammad Hassan Awad, indicated that the College is at the forefront of Sharia colleges in the Arab and Islamic world, and it has been distinguished by its moderate and moderate curriculum, far from any extremism in education. Through this curriculum, it was able to present a group of outstanding students.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, the Secretary of the Damascus University branch of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Dr. Khaled Al-Halbouni, the head of the National Union of Syrian Students, Dareen Suleiman, faculty members at the college, and a crowd of graduates' families.
